Rare Olivetti ANK1924 adapter
« on: Mon, 30 December 2019, 21:24:48 »
Hello everyone, hope you are doing well.
I restored a rare Olivetti ANK 1924 that originally came with the Olivetti M13 PC. I cleaned it up, changed a bad capacitor on the board and put a new cable as someone cut the original. I found the datasheet of the microcontroller, and wired VCC and GND correctly, so another 3 cables are hanging. I tried all possible comibinations and both AT and XT adapters to USB with no luck. All I could do was to light up the on-board LEDs and make them respond as expected and get a beep every time a key is pressed.
Any idea on which adapter / protocol do I need? Thanks a lot.
Oh, and another question, just for curiosity, what is that connector the PCB has at the top centre - right side? The plastic case has a removeable door that gives access to it, but never seen it in any keyboard.

Here's my neat wiring trial / error  ;)
