Hello from Japan
« on: Mon, 25 May 2020, 22:29:46 »
Hi, My names Philip. I currently live in Japan for the time being. I've been here two years now and loving it.
I love videogames and computers. I am currently in college as well as taking care of my family over here. I've built a few pcs and had a few mechanical keyboards. ie. razer, ducky. Just recently decided to get more involved and bought my first, "higher end" keeb recently. I love customizing things and give them a personal feel. It's been over 10 years since I've been active on forums since it seems most things moved from their respected sites to facebook/reddit so i'm happy to be here. haha.

Hi Philip. Welcome to Geekhack.

I imagine that's a great place to live when interested in Keyboards. You've got Topre right there in your backyard (which I have yet to try, but it is being rectified).

I also build computers, and work on them for a living. That seems to be a common theme here. What's your first "higher end" keyboard?

I'm the same, making something your own is a great feeling.

I think that that is part of this forum's draw. It doesn't have any of that social media B.S. It is just a good old-fashioned efficient forum, instead of being some sort of visual/navigational projectile vomit.

sorry for late reply. That's awesome. My goal is to transition into doing that when I leave the military. Currently going to school to learn networking and cyber security as well.
and I ended up buying a Matrix Noah. I had saw it on the mechmarket and waiting to find one for a good price. haha. I'm just here to have fun, learn, and chat with some like minded people.

I should do the same, but haven't. It is a lot better money than what I'm doing now.

That Matrix Noah is pretty sharp looking.

If you’re in a position to do so you should. I know life gets in the way. I’ve been studying an A+ book to learn some of that info to get the cert. but thankfully I’m almost done with all
My general studies and will start learning the fun stuff soon
