I hate you ...

.... naaah, just kidding :)

Now that I have your attention I just wanted to thank say thank you.

Right now I am still typing on my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard... Some time ago I was pretty addicted to the nice backlight and the flat design, but my typing on all of the flat Keyboards are lacking precision and I often miss the keys.

So after a little research I found you guys here :nerd: ... and after reading a few hours on this forum I decided to order a DasKeyboard Ultimate.. yip. It will arrive tomorrow and I am very excited if it can improve my typing skills. This is my first -knowingly- mechanical keyboard. When I was a child my dad started early to teach me how to use a computer and I am pretty sure he had one of the older IBM keyboards... but that was nearly 20 years ago, so I can not remember exactly...

I was a little bit suspicious of spending 130 Euros for just a keyboard (without any fancy lightning and just blank keys). But I think this is the right way to go because due to my study I use the computer  up to 10 hours a day...

Also, I am very impressed of the HHKB Pro 2 ... but that would have cost me 300 Euros (shipping to Germany + tax)... So I think the Das will be a great start in a whole new world of peripheral devices. Maybe I will try it when the Pro 3 is on sale (will there be a 3rd version?).

So, yeah .. I really had much fun reading in this community and I got a lot of information about Keyboards. I am sure I will take a look here more often.

ende.

OMG ... a few minutes ago DHL rang the bell and brought me my highly anticipated packet! The DasKeyboard Ultimate is here... what a beauty!

But I must admit, I did not excpect it to be that shiny... anyway, it looks georgous.

These are also my first few sentences on the Das and all I can say is - WOW. I did not knew that the difference towards my old keyboard would be that huge... amazing. A whole new typing experience!!

THIS KEYBOARD IS AWESOME :hail:

But now I think I have to learn the real 10-Finger touch typing.... I dont think that I will get the maximum with my 6-8 Finger "system" (60-80 wpm).

ende.

I have a similar story to yours. I too had the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard as my prior-to-mechanical keyboard. I love low profile scissor switch keyboards, and the illumination was a huge plus for me, but my accuracy was horrible on that thing.

I lurked around here for awhile and ended up getting my first mechanical keyboard in June. It was the Filco in my signature.

I finally bit the bullet and shelled out the money for a Realforce. I can't wait till it comes! Anyway, good luck with the Das!
Keyboards currently in my possession:
Filco Majestouch Cherry MX Brown 104 key, Unicomp Spacesaver 104, Rosewill RK-9000RE (Cherry MX Red), Leopold 660C Mini Capacitive keyboard, HHKB Type S, Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

Keypads:
Leopold 210TP Mechanical Keypad (Cherry MX Red), Leopold FC210TP/NB Mechanical Keypad (Cherry MX Brown)

Other Keyboards I have tried:
Filco Majestouch Cherry MX Red, Leopold  FC500RR/AB Linear Touch Cherry MX Red, Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth Edition, Realforce 103U/UB, Realforce 103U Black All 55g, Noppoo Choc Mini 84 Mechanical Cherry MX Black keyboard, Noppoo Choc Mini 84 Mechanical Cherry MX Red keyboard (white and black color versions), PLU G3000 NKRO keyboard (white w/ Cherry MX Red switches), Dell 101AT (black Alps switches), Mattias Mini Quiet Pro (modified white Alps switches), KBT Pure Pro, (2)Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional 2, Leopold FC210TP/CB Tactile Click Cherry MX Blue Tenkey pad

Realforce is a great keyboard; I just got one myself. Though they are expensive, I'm pretty sure now they are worth the price. The little discounts do help a bit though. If I could go back and just get the Realforce (and no other keyboards), I would have been happy.
