The Realforce 103U-UW has variable weight keys. It's a nice keyboard, but I have a problem with typos on low-force keyboards because I consistently hit keys off-center. A possible solution is to buy a Realforce 103UB (all 55g) and swap the rubber-dome mats. My goal is to end up with a white, all 55g Realforce (not a fan of the black-on-black keys).
I'm thinking this will solve my problem, since I can type cleanly on two keyboards with Cherry blacks, but lots of typos on Cherry brown and variable weigh Topre.
Does anyone know if the rubber mats on the 103U-UW and 103UB are compatible, and can be swapped? I'm thinking it will be an easy mod, since
this topic by Ripster says the keyboards are easy to open.
As a corollary, is anyone in the market for a new Realforce 103UB with a (slightly used) variable weight mat?
