Recently I purchase two good keyboards one is the model F and the other one is Omnikey Ultra with SKCM white complicated alps.
I absolutely love the CBS in model F they are super smooth and require a lot less force it just makes typing so much easier and fun. Every key press is a delight!
Although my experience with white alps hasn't been completely positive. The keyboard that I have is in very good condition and so are the alps switches inside, probably 9.5/10. But while typing I feel it requires too much force and isn't as smooth as the CBS. After a while it just gets tiring for the hands. So typing for very long hours becomes a chore. Now I keep CBS as my daily driver and from time to time replace it with the omnikey just to give the white alps switches a chance since I have heard so much about them, but after sometime I just want my model f back to type on.
I love the tactility and the sound of white alps but the actuation force is just too much for me for long periods of typing. Although on paper CBS require just 10g of force less 60g compared to 70g but it feels so much easier to me.
Now the advice I need is that I have heard a lot about blue alps and how much refined they are compared to white alps and yada...yada..yada
I have started searching for a good blue alps keyboard to experience something that is considered at par with CBS. But is it worth it since it will be months till I find a reasonable blue alps board. Or should I just quit as alps is not my thing? Or am I doing something wrong and should actually give the alps board more finger time before making a judgement? Is there an easier way I can experience blue alps first before investing time and effort searching for it?
Are there any other ALPS switches that I should try? If I feel that 70g force is just too much, before I give up on Alps. I only want a clicky or at least tactile switch.
