Greetings from Canada!
« on: Mon, 25 January 2021, 17:04:19 »
Hi there! My name is Jenn and I'm still a noob when it comes to mechanical keyboards, but I hope to keep learning and growing my collection! I bought my first mech keyboard a year ago (the Ducky One 2 TKL with *sigh* Cherry Browns...I'm sorry, I didn't know any better ok!!) and I recently built my first board (the NK65 EE with Box Pinks, which made me realize I am definitely a clicky switch kinda gal)!

My favourite part about mech keyboards is definitely all the super cute keycap sets out there (and also the satisfying typing sounds)! My personal goal for 2021 is to design a keycap set, create an IC thread and *hopefully* get it produced! I still have a long ways to go, since I am currently learning Blender so I can get some renders out (I have some ideas for colour schemes/designs already). I would love to chat about the process with anyone who has gone through it! Or if anyone is also in the same boat!

And I hope everyone who reads this has a great day! Here is a heart for you if you made it through my whole post lol (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

Hi welcome :) I'm also new here, and in the same boat! I'd like to design something this year as well, but I have no idea where to start other than making my designs. Good luck with Blender -- It's pretty tricky to get the hang of. I'm looking forward to hearing about your designs!

Thank you! Sounds like you have an idea of how to use Blender already though, which is good! Good luck with your designs too! I'll also be looking out for them :) I know I would also need to find a vendor to partner with as part of the process at some point (possibly before I can involve the manufacturer?) so that is probably my next goal after getting my design set/renders done lol Buuuut I'll cross that bridge when I get there :P

Aww, thank you both for the warm welcomes!  ;D

As for my current keycaps, I have the Akko World Tour - Tokyo ones atm! But I'm waiting to splurge on either GMK Olivia or IFK Islander *if* they ever come back for a r3 or r2 since I missed the original GBs ;-; I know Islander Extras are coming out verrry soon so here's hoping I can snag one!
