I am sorry but we do not manufacture a keyboard that supports N-Key
Rollover.

o.O

That's just weird- I've personally verified n>40 keys registering on my MX-8100 (G80-8113)...

I'm not convinced that Cherry know what n-key rollover means.  On their webpage for the usb Raptor K1 they claim

Quote
The “Cherry Full-N-Key-Rollover” function enables you to simultaneously press all modifier buttons (i.e. Shift key, Ctrl button, Alt and Windows button) as well as 6 additional shortcut buttons, without loosing or confusing any information (ghost button effect).
I guess it is consistent for N <= 6 :)

linked from http://www.cherry.de/english/products/products.htm

IBI also found only 6 key rollover

I believe Raptor-Gaming and cherry are two different companies with a promotion/supply deal.

The K1 is definitely a cherry keyboard though, it's got cherry written all over the internals. I suspect the arrangement is that Raptor-gaming custom order a batch of cherry keyboards with the n-key rollover switches and a USB hub and then just stick their name on top and sell them off in smaller quantities to people who need fewer keyboards than cherry's minimum order number.

Sounds likely.  Found out today from an Australian distributor that they don't have listings for raptor or any g80-1800's for that matter.  I have seen g80-1863 with MX brown on Asian sites.  I wonder if it was an evaluation model for the raptor which has MX brown or black?

Hello, could you hit every key on the numpad simultaneously except numlock and tell me if it all registers?

From what I've read, any Cherry board with a credit card reader and MX switches has rollover.

Does anyone know of any exceptions to this rule?

Would anyone disagree that this is generally true?

Yes, they all register (including the numlock).

I didn't mean from a particular, reputable source -- I just meant from what I've read of other members. I don't remember anyone with a Cherry with a credit card reader ever saying they didn't have rollover, which leads me to believe that they all do.

Just an observation, so if anyone can prove me wrong, speak up.

From what I've heard any board in the G80-8*** series has the same PCB and will be NKRO. Also there are some other G80 boards with different model #s that use the same PCB and are thus NKRO, but I don't know what they are.

G80-8*** series is. You said so yourself, G80-8113, and my G80-8200. Both NKRO. Obviously the G80-1800 or G80-11900 aren't. But G80-8000 are.

Because the freaking market place bot is broken again I will put this shameless plug into this topic:

http://geekhack.org/classifieds.php?do=showad&adid=518&title=deeu-g80-1800-nkey-rollover-raptor-k1

Full n-key rollover!

Also: Early versions of the G80-1000 (also some very early G80-3000) series boards do have n-key rollover. Its true that most of their POS boards do support n-key rollover but not every board with a credit card reader does. There is one series (I think G80-19xx) that looks like the G80-1800 series with a credit card reader which definitely does not support nkey.

Cherry will say a lot of strange things after you shoot them an email.

I think it's because you're a retail-level consumer and Cherry doesn't give a damn about anyone but corporate customers.

The G80 series is NOT n-key

This "I think I heard" references are not very useful.

Yeah. I guess you're right. I "thought I heard" the RicerCar SPOS was N-key, but I see now that I'm definitely wrong ;). By the way, why is it called the RicerCar SPOS? Isn't RicerCar a Geekhack member?

Can you confirm that your keyboard is actually "Full n-key rollover"?

My Raptor-Gaming K1 is 6-key rollover.  It doesn't work at all with any usb-ps2 adaptor I have, so mine doesn't meet the marketing claims on n-key.

I think that's because it's a USB. The PS/2 version might be able to handle full N-key rollover.
