My HHKB Pro 2 arrived

My HHKB Pro 2 just arrived from EliteKeyboards.

First impressions are great. I have never typed on anything that has the same feel. A keypress seem to register about halfway between rest and bottoming out. I really love the sound that the keys make (I'm bottoming out on each keypress at the moment).

I am liking this keyboard more each time I use it. The 'klop' 'klop' sound of the spacebar and return keys are great.

I would try one as the topres definitely are nice. But for me, my Filco tenkeyless with reds still is my favorite keyboard. For some reason I can type very light and don't bottom out on the reds but cannot get that same light touch going with the topres.  I also like the sound of the topres but really like the reds even better.
Current in order of preference:  RealForce 87U Silent White with variable weighted keys X 2, Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless with Linear Reds, Filco Number-pad, Poker with Linear Reds

Sold or returned:  Multiple Microsoft and Logitech keyboards, Das Keyboard Silent, Cherry 6140, RealForce 103UB, RealForce 86U, Filco Majestouch 2 full sized with Linear Reds

congrats!

When I got my first HHKB (6 years ago, a 2005 model) I was so elated, it was the single most effective factor that motivated me to spend more time on emacs for work.

lol, the whole reason I got into mech keyboards was because I started using emacs and was researching different keyboard layouts.  capslock is a useless key!

Completely and totally useless, yes. That's why it should be a control key, especially if you're an emacs user. Just remember, you can replicate the layout fairly easily on a Model M, if you ever want to try a buckling spring keyboard and don't want to give up the HHKB layout.
HHKB Pro 2 -- Custom UNIX layout Unicomp Customizer 101 -- IBM Model M 1391401 (modded to UNIX layout) -- IBM 1397000 (also UNIX layout) -- SSK in UNIX layout -- Model F 122 key in UNIX layout (Soarer USB "native")
