Value of used MX SPOS
« on: Fri, 10 December 2010, 17:27:30 »
What would the value be of a Cherry SPOS MX keyboard, serial # 000038. With all original keys, and doubleshots scavenged from a Cherry MY7000 (no shine). With a GeekHack key, Overclock.net key, and two SP Esc keys. Moderately used over a period of ~3 months.

And while we're at it, of a white IBM M13 from 1994 in good shape (no loose rivets, all keys, little dirt) except that the spring for numpad enter is loose.

And of a Chicony KB-5181 with SMK Montereys.

Phaedrus, if the price of the Ricercar is reasonable, I'd buy it from you.  What's reasonable?  Good question.

There is one on ebay right now it will probably sell in under 30 minutes for $80 shipped.

Best feeling cherry brown keyboard that has existed in my humble opinion.

To quote myself:
Quote from: elbowglue;137768
Jsut bought 2 - Bing.com cashback of $2 bucks, total is
$20+ 14.58 shipping - 2 dollars cashback = 32.58 for 2x cherry brown compact keyboards.

OMFG it's a good deal.  Better buy it before I decide to buy 4 more in a single purchase... shipping dosen't go up much in multiples.

This still applies for $80 shipped.

Well if the one on ebay dosent sell I suppose the keyboard itself is worth less than $80 shipped.  There are ups and downs of keyboard demand, this keyboard is totally out of production, has PCB mounted cherry browns, very nice compact layout with tenkey, macro keys, compact format, very very nice feeling switches.  You'll probably need to find a very enlightened geekhacker to jump on it or a cherry brown hoarder like myself to hop on it (market isn't that liquid although it should be)

Nowadays cherry blue boards are very easy to come by (razer BW, RK-9000, ducky, filco, das, ione scorpius, xarmor), browns are a little harder to come by (das silent, ducky or filco for import), and PCB mounted browns are even harder to find.

Some people don't like the layout but honestly anyone who knows how to remap keys with AHK or other programs should have no problem with it.  The keyboard is like butter, if mechanical keyboards could be dairy products.

IMHO keyboard itself should be a steal at $80 shipped.

I should have signed it for you, Phaedrus. Then you might get even more.

I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.
