Help with Stuck Key
« on: Mon, 31 January 2011, 20:19:59 »
I just took delivery of my 2nd Filco from Armygroup, but this one has cherry blue switches.

Unfortunately, my "Y" key seems to be sticking every once in a while.

Is there anything I can do to fix this myself?  I removed the key cap, and the actual switch is what is sticking every once in a while.

Please help.

Thanks GH.

Compressed air, if anything. Either there's dirt inside or there's a molding artifact on the stem or top case. The latter would require a visit from a nail file after popping the switch open.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

Help with Stuck Key

Thanks for the suggestions.  I ended up just repeatedly pressing the key for several minutes and its no longer sticking.  I guess it just needed to be "broken in".

Coincidentally, my Num Lock key is sticking now, so I'm just going to give it the same treatment as the other key.

Nonetheless, thanks for the suggestions.  I'll keep them in mind if I run across any other issues.
