I got my hands on another Trinitron monitor today. It's a 14" one from 1996. It had a little magnet damage, but after a few de-gaussings, it gets great picture.

At 1024x768, it recfreshes at 75Hz. Not too bad for an older monitor. But it gets very good picture and color. Nice and sharp.

Look at the line.

Once you see it then it never goes away.

It depends on the person, I have no trouble spotting them, but I can also ignore them.

Nope. The whole thing works just fine. The colors line up great. The monitor's a little rough on the outside, but no scratches on the screen either.

I have a 17" Mitsubishi Diamondpro that can do 1600x1200 non-interlaced.  For some reason I'm really having a hard time giving it up.  Thing weighs a ton though, maybe that's my problem.  Lazy.

I got a Viewsonic P220 from a friend a few weeks back.  Does 150Hz at 1024x768, great for games (also does 1600x1200 @ 75 Hz I think). Do to fulltime work and school, I had stopped playing games when I made the transition from CRTs to LCDs and didn't realize what I gave up by downgrading to crappy 60Hz refresh rates.  120Hz is a world of difference when it comes to FPS games.  I do have 2 20" panels next to my CRT though, and use those for everything else.  The LCD market really needs some innovation at the lower end, as almost all the inexpensive ones look like crap, have poor mounts (e.g. no VESA mounts), and might do 75 Hz if your're lucky.  Oh, and that 1080p thing on LCD monitors, I want to kill the marketing **** that made that decision...

It's all Microsoft Windows fault...he got me ranting. :p

I have an old NEC FE700+ that does 1024x768 @ 85Hz. Hurts my eyes faster than an LCD, though the blacks are stunning.

It does up to 1280x1024 @ 60Hz.

Oh thats not true, I have a 21" P1130 and you only ever notice it on an all white screen.  Its unnoticeable under other situations.

I love that monitor though, does 1600x1200@100hz really well.  It was worth the $15 it cost me for it 3 years ago.  No problems with convergence or geometry.
