Majestouch Tactile Touch - double hits?
« on: Thu, 24 February 2011, 15:17:13 »
I moved from a Unicomp Endurapro to a Majestouch with Cherry browns in it. I really want to like it, but there is one annoying problem that has kept me from doing so. I get this irritating problem where I get keypresses registered twice. I can't reproduce it directly, it only crops up when I'm in the middle of typing something. I figured at first that it may just have to do with coming from such a heavy keyboard to something lighter, or that maybe I was resting fingers on keys, but it has been months now and I still have this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it possible it could be a fault with the keyboard, or is it something I am doing?

Sounds like chattering to me. Some Filcos have that afaik. Is the keyboard still covered by the warranty?

My Majestouch with MX Blues did this with the Caps Lock key. I popped off the keycap, pressed down on the switch, and blew it out with my air compressor. I must have had some debris inside the switch because now it works flawlessly again.

Ahh, I had a browser crash and completely forgot about having posted this thread; thanks for the info and responses. I bought in early March of 2010 from EliteKeyboards, so I guess I should have followed up more quickly! They do say they warranty for a year, but it's been past that now. I guess I'll see if I can't clean the contacts up or perhaps buy new switches for the offending keys if that is possible.
