Lookin to get a Poker 60%, need help choosing keyswitch
« on: Fri, 01 April 2011, 10:19:43 »
Hey all. New poster here :)

Let me start off by saying I'm a long time mech kb addict. The keyboard that got me into them was my buddy's (what else) old IBM Model M. Then, I had the luxury of using a Dell AT101W at my first computer job. Ever since then I've been hooked. My current board is a Das Ulti S.

With that being said, I want to pick up one of those Poker 60% keyboards for portability. But I'm not sure what switch to get. I'm familiar with the Blues, as the Das Keyboard utilizes them. However, I must say I definitely preferred the feel of the AT101W sliders to the Cherry blues.

My question is this: Which Cherry switch (Brown, Black, Red, etc) would give me a feel more like the Dell AT101W?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not really dead set on the ALPS feel, but there's something about the softness of the mx blue that isn't quite right to me.

I'm sure you should go for clears (which for some strange reasons aren't offered on poker).
