usb to ps/2
« on: Mon, 17 September 2012, 12:45:38 »
So this Meka's manual says it supports usb to ps/2. Tried my old logitech usb to ps/2 convertor. Didn't work on the keyboard, but worked on the mouse. It doesn't matter if it's the green convertor from a mouse, does it?

It shouldn't.  PS/2 is PS/2, it should work no matter what you plug into it.

Now let me just clarify... when you mean USB to PS/2, do you mean this:

Or this?

I'm assuming it's the first one?

It depends how you think about it.  I think of everything from the perspective of what plugs into the computer vs. what the plug is on the other end.  So to me, the last one is a USB to PS/2 adapter, the first one is a PS/2 to USB adapter.

Just FYI...

Is this the normal meka, or the meka G1? I know the latter is very similar to the WASDkeyboard, which uses the same controller as the G1, and works perfectly using the included passive USB(keyboard) to PS2(computer) adapter. Have you tried it on other computers?

Normal Meka, have tried it on a laptop and another pc.  That's why I have a habit of ignoring manuals, they always have something utterly wrong.
