Looking for a scissor switch gaming keyboard
« on: Sun, 01 May 2011, 13:05:52 »
Looking for something with 6kro, or at least a matrix that works well around the wasd cluster. The review of the Kensington board kind of scared me off (lifespan); will I be able to expect a decent (~2 years) lifespan from a scissor switch board?

Does anyone have any personal experience with the Rosewill RK-7300 or the Enermax Aurora? I really love the look of the Aurora, but all of the reviews I could find of it were from a very general, office-use viewpoint.

(I looked through the various wiki articles and searched the forums, sorry if I missed something obvious)

Sadly one of the best scissor keyboards (the Logitech illuminated) is not gaming friendly from the key rollover point of view, at least in some batches.

The other is the one linked by curzen.

I don't own the external keyboard, just thinkpads.

Doing the test on it would be pointless being the same keyboard but connected internally.

I've used Thinkpad laptops with the same layout, and can't say I care much for it.  If I was to buy the Aurora or the Rosewill, it would more likely be 2kro than anything else, right?

Often times manufacturers reuse the matrix and slap it in a shell.  Plus, knowledge is always good.

Ok, tested. (X200 tablet with NMB keyboard)

It's basically a 2KRO:  Z+X+UP+DOWN works, W+R+V don't works. A maximum of 6 keys + modifiers are registered depending on the combination

Attitudes like that lead to wild speculation

What speculation ?

Who said something about the tp keyboard rollover (until now, I mean ?)
