Replacing Cherry MX Black switch
« on: Fri, 13 May 2011, 18:47:38 »
I'm sorry if this is in the "wiki" but I only saw something about replacing Cherry MY switches. The "wiki" seems like no wiki at all but just another sub-forum. If there is a better way to access this and search through the information please let me know.

I have two TG3s and I need to replace swap a switch between boards. The Y key works but only if you absolutely completely depress the switch. I have an entire second board (with trackpad) so I can swap parts but I can't figure out how to take the switches off. Any help is appreciated.

Well, I found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLBXxzmuA_Q

I assume it's the same for blacks, is that correct?

edit: I see that is for PCB mounted switches. The tg3 boards are plate mounted though.
