TG3 BL82 modded board
« on: Thu, 10 March 2011, 03:27:40 »
I'm selling my modded TG3 BL82 board (2KRO). It's a one of a kind board at the moment featuring Cherry MX Blue switches, orange LEDs and a transparent case. PS/2 Connector. The board is missing the ESC key but I'm having one delivered from Deck.

More info about the board: http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:14034

The buyer will receive the board, 10 spare LEDs and an 'orange on black' Geekhack key.

The price is 170€ + shipping. Will ship worldwide but would prefer an EU buyer and bank transfer instead of PayPal.

Shipping cost around 18€ for registered airmail w/ tracking & confirmation

I'd like to see more photos of it :)  I think the mod thread only has 1 half picture of the finished product.

What is the reason for this being $140 more than a Choc Mini or something else with MX Blues? Is it the LEDs? I really don't know, looking to buy my first mechanical soon so please don't take offense.

Is the small right shift key uncomfortable? I think it's awesome looking but I want to find out more about the keyboard.

it's an unique keyboard, home crafted on slovenian virgin legs, under the full moon, and dip in the blood of three brown  bears :-)

No, it's an unique keyboard, case, switches and led.
I understand you would pay premium for it, i would if i could.

But for a first mech keyboard it may be too much.

As gilgam put it, it's a unique keyboard. Default TG3 comes with a black case, red LEDs and Cherry MX Black switches. Also, lots of work (soldering, cleaning) went into the making of this mod.

There seems to be zero interest? I know the board is expensive. An american could do the same mod for 1/2 the money I spent and sell the board cheaper. Unfortunately, I got really ripped off on shipping and VAT so lowering the price is out of the question. Spent about 14 hours total (my fault entirely) working on the board so even at 170€ the profit just isn't there.

It's a very nice board, and unfortunate that no one appears to be interested.  Why don't you just keep it?  If I spent that many hours modding a board like that, I'd be too proud of my work to sell it =/

IMHO that board is totally worth it.  It's hella sexy.  Why didn't I buy it yet?  Wife would get pissed :P  Now when I get that money in my paypal as credit for selling other stuff, then she dosen't need to know the price =)

That keyboard is filthy good looking and exactly what I'm looking for. Unfortunately at about $270 USD it's far above what I'm willing to pay for any keyboard at this time. Good luck selling it, though, it's a really nice job you've done and, frankly, worth the price you're asking.

There's been a couple posts I've seen recently from people asking for MX blues with tenkeyless form and backlighting. Maybe should seek those guys out?

In case anyone is interested, I'm putting this back up for sale. I also got that replacement ESC key from Deck. The font is different than default TG3 font. The buyer will also receive one Geek Hack key.

Cheers
