You might have seen my thread in the classifieds looking for a KBC Poker. Ultimately, my impatience won over and I ordered a Filco from Amazon. Delivery was very fast, and typing feels amazing. Upon arrival, I noticed that the base of the keyboard was uneven. When I typed, it would back and forth between the top left and bottom right. It annoyed me that I had just spend $140 on a wobbly keyboard, so I filed a return request on Amazon and ordered another one. I guess I should have google'd first. It appears that this is a pretty common problem on Filcos? I did what people said and twisted the keyboard, and now it seems okay. Anyway, wanted to say thanks for everyone's input. I'm already very curious what red/brown switches feel like...

Did you guys even read his post?

I had the same problem; I put a little force to one of the corners, then it stopped wobbling.

Mine was a v1 and I did not hear people talking about it either.. or either it was just too trivial to have it returned I guess.

Was a piece of the rubber feet missing (causing unevenness) or the plastic bottom was warped (now that would make Ripster mad)?

I had the same problem with my brown tenkeyless. A quick twist fixed it right up.

I had the same problem with mine. I thought it was the table at first. So what I did was to prop up a corner of it with a little bit of card. After a few weeks I removed the card and it was settling perfectly flat. So it was probably just typing like this for a while that sorted it.

Like I said, I twisted mine and now it's as flat as a board. I'm not sure if it had to do with shipping, because it was very well packaged by Amazon.

I just wanted to say that I'm absolutely in love with blue switches. They are so incredibly amazing to type on. This might sound a bit weird, but I love the noise it makes when I depress a handful of keys at a time.

audioave - If you think UPS is bad, what do you think of USPS?!? I have found that UPS tends to be pretty good, but anything sent through the postal service better be prepared for war.

all couriers are just about as bad. all due to the fact that machines sort everything. automated sorting has no regard to the weight of the object following the last coming down chutes etc. resulting in something fragile being followed by an anvil.

Yea but at least if you bring it to UPS they are pretty good at packaging stuff. When I had to send my computer cross country they injected the box with that foam that instantly makes everything in the box packed tight and that worked really well.

Just yesterday I received a Majestouch 2 tenkeyless limited with cherry red switches and I'm sad to say that I too have noticed it sometimes will not sit flat. The twisting method mentioned makes it go away but after some use it will start to happen again.

I'll probably end up sending it back for an exchange and try my luck again. It just doesn't feel right having to twist a keyboard that carries such a premium in order for it to sit properly.

Don't twist a $160 Filco keyboard, it's too risky and the postal cost is expensive.

You can try to find another non-flat table that fits with it.

I don't think the twisting is really that big of a problem. I'm sure it's just the metal plate; as forces are applied to the keyboard, it'll give a little. A change in temperature could even cause it. When I received my replacement keyboard, it displayed the same characteristics. One light twist and now it's fine.

I don't know if you could even call it twisting, really. There's really no give. You're just kinda applying slight torsion to it. Had to do it with both my Filcos, and they've been solid like a rock on my desk ever since.

Indeed, I even found that applying pressure to the bottom right corner whilst bracing the left side of the board seemed to eliminate the wobble, but it would soon be back after moving the board around the desk a couple of times. That didn't sit well (hurrrr) with me considering the price tag, so back it went today in hope of a replacement thats stable 100% of the time!
