QWER and UIOP bug on Filco Majestouch
« on: Sat, 11 June 2011, 14:41:06 »
Hi everybody.

Those 8 keys suddenly stopped working on my Filco 1h ago after a (hard) fall.
I've tested with aquatest and they really aren't recognised. I've opened it but can't see anything wrong, because I don't really now what to look for.

Could give some ideas on how to troubleshot that ?

Thank you very much, I'm quite in panic mode right now :'(

(and typing without 8 letters is quite hard, sorry for the short text, I'm on the visual keyboard right now)

Better bring it to a fellow technician, he'll easily check where the problem is.
And don't panic yet.

I bought it online in the UK, so who should I try to contact ? I'd like to fix it quite quickly if possible.

Given that it suffered a (hard) fall, I don't think warranty will cover it.
Don't you have a friend technician who could open it up and check for you?
Man up, it's not like you crashed a new Porsche.

I'd love to hand it to a friend of mine but who is supposed to have any knowledge on this ? The board is quite easy to analyse :p

It indeed was. Took out my soldering iron, redid 2 tracks, and it works like wonder again !

I'll be more careful with it now <3
