scissor key problem
« on: Mon, 18 July 2011, 22:11:55 »
I have a netbook with a key that wont register when its touched in one corner.  The key also feels stiff and doesn't travel correctly when you press in that corner.  Any idea what the problem is? is it fixable? It feels like im going to break the key when I try and pull it.
Looking for an access AKC110

Try to lift it and peek underneath to see what's wrong. Sometimes scissor keys get a bit dislodged and just need a good firm push to click things back into place.

It's also possible something got stuck between the rubber dome and the membrane.  the scissor mechanism holds the keycap in the right place, but the rubber dome still needs to make proper contact with the membrane in order for the key press to register.
