Filco Majestouch-2 NKR 104 ASCII with Red Switches
« on: Mon, 18 July 2011, 15:15:33 »
Hi,

I am brand new to this forum, but thought that I would come here first rather than taking my chances with eBay or craigslist to sell my keyboard.

I ordered a Filco Majestouch-2 NKR 104 ASCII keyboard with red switches a little over two weeks ago from the Keyboard Co. After much thought/debate, however, I have decided that I would like to sell the keyboard simply because returning it back to England would cost over $40.00. It has nothing to do with the keyboard itself, but rather my personal taste in keyboards. You see, I have been using a keyboard that came with a Dell Dimension desktop computer for nearly a decade now. It was one of the first keyboards that I truly typed on for an extended period of time each day.

I'm in the process of building my own computer this summer and thought I would give a mechanical keyboard a try after all the praise and recognition they get across online forums. After several weeks of researching mechanical keyboards and switch types, I finally decided on a Filco mechanical keyboard with red switches. As soon as it arrived in the mail I hooked it right up to my computer. I was greeted, however, with an extreme awkwardness when typing. I thought to myself, this is natural, I just need to get used to the feel of a mechanical keyboard. But now, after nearly two weeks of extended daily use, I still find myself having a hard time typing on this keyboard. As I have mentioned before, it has nothing to do with the keyboard itself, I have mostly likely been ruined by the cheap rubber-domes that are seen on most Dell keyboards. I know this is blasphemy, but I just feel more comfortable typing on my cheap Dell keyboard rather than the Filco Majestouch.

The keyboard is exactly in the same condition I received it in, brand new, and none of the of miscellaneous packaging has been opened (plastic wrap with key-removal tool and red WASD keys).

I would like to sell this keyboard for no less than $160.00. I will pay for shipping as long as it's within the continental U.S.

Here is a brief product description:
The newest "Majestouch" keyboard from master keyboard makers - Filco. This keyboard combines the high quality typing feel of Cherry MX switches, steel mounted in a rock solid body with full N-key Rollover function, all put together in a very slick package. N-Key Rollover allows multiple simultaneous key presses to be recognized by your computer. A big help for the superfast typist or serious gamer. These keyboards just make you want to type. Linear action (Red switch). Gold contacts. 4.0mm travel. 2.0mm actuation point. 45g ~ 1.6oz actuating force keyswitch. Switches tested to 50 million actuations. This limited edition model comes with additional red WASD key caps, and a key puller.

I apologize that the pictures are simply those taken from the seller, but if you would like some other pictures, perhaps from different angles, I will try to upload some via my webcam.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and I hope someone will be kind enough to provide this keyboard with a home. Contact me at wolfe2ca@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments.

best wishes,
Chris
