Hello all,

I've been lurking for a while and have finally joined up. Hello from Australia :-)
I am trying to hunt down a well-priced buckling-spring board, and I've come across this:

http://www.alancomputech.com/ak278aa-aba.html

Even with shipping ($86US) this still works out to be the cheapest option (other than finding an original model m, which to date I've had no luck with). I've asked the seller and he says that this board doesn't use buckling springs, and yet on other sites the same board with the same part number is listed as 'clicky' (for example: http://www.codemicro.com/store/product/AK278AAABA/New )

The Unicomp site doesn't mention part numbers. I'm aware that this board can come in buckling spring or 'quiet touch' so I'm just trying to work out which it is.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Geekhack!

If the seller says it's rubber dome it's probably rubber dome.

Sigh. I thought as much. I was hoping one of you guys might be able to reply along the lines of "Oh, that seller doesn't know what they are talking about, that part number indicates it is buckling spring"

Oh well, back to model m hunting I guess. I'd love to order direct from Unicomp, but the combined cost of the board plus shipping to Aus really kills it :-( Unless there are any suggestions for cheap shipping to Aus?
