Realforce 86U for NIB IBM SSK
« on: Mon, 18 July 2011, 20:49:02 »
I just received a Realforce 86U TenKeyLess (White/Gray) keyboard that I ordered from Elite Keyboards (I can show the reciept) on July 10, 2011.  I never tried a Topre switch before and wanted to give it a shot. After one day of using it, I don't think I like it as much as I thought that I would. Is there any one that wants to trade it for a NIB IBM SSK? I also bought the red ESC key so the total for everything was $269.50. PM me if you are interested.
IBM SSK - 4
IBM Terminal Mini 1392980 - 2
IBM 1391401 - 12

Realforce 86UB -1

Haven't I read that topres change their feel and sound over their first few days of use? You might want to spend more time with them.

How do topre switches stand up to time? Rubber domes often feel much worse (stiffer/sticky/etc) after a few years, do topre's degrade over time?
Kinesis Contoured Advantage & Advantage2 LF with Cherry MX Red switches / Extra keys mod / O-ring dampening mod / Dvorak layout. ErgoDox with buzzer and LED mod.
Also: Kinesis Advantage Classic, Kinesis Advantage2, Data911 TG3, Fingerworks Touchstream LP, IBM SSK (Buckling spring), Goldtouch GTU-0077 keyboard

They do but Topre users are too embarrassed to admit that it happens to a $300 keyboard.

The Asians report this.  Proud Americans do not.

The bump wears only slightly, but I like them better this way.

You have become such a Topre hater recently.
Do you have trouble with AAPL?
