I posed this as a suggestion to them just after they got their DAS keyboards and thought it had fallen on deaf ears. I guess they had decided to follow through with it afterall. And at that price its not looking too bad either. I think I'll have to pick one up. And get a TKL from Mech Keyboards when they get theirs.

Especially here in Australia where our computer stuff is often quite a bit higher than over there in the US. When I bought my computer case a couple of years ago I paid $180 for it here, but it was available for $80 over there at the same time. I thought it was madness but I really wanted the case to I bit the bullet. Probably not going to do that again though as there are so many new cases that I like now I'm not going to be short on choice.

Still sure that 160$ is a justified price for a filco ?

109 $ although AUD and not USD, is a reasonable price.

Oh, wow I didn't know that. Hmm, I guess PC Case Gear is a much larger website and more established in e-commerce across Australia, but I'm surprised that they would cancel on them. I hope PCCG then stocks TKL and more switch types. Now I feel terrible though, I was the one that passed the info onto PCCG before I even knew about Mechkeyboards.com and I can't help but wonder if I inadvertently caused the cancel.

Whatever the case may have been, I hope Mechkeyboards bounces back from this. There is still a multitude of mechanical keyboards that are unavailable in Australia. It brought Ducky to Australia.. hopefully this can expand to PLU, KBC Pokers, etc.

How come Elitekeyboards charges less?

Added to the WW Shopping Wiki.

That's just how things are here in Australia. For some reason despite our dollar being slightly more powerful at the moment we still pay upto twice as much for things. My father bought a motorbike here that costs $12k brand new here and its $6k in the US. We pay $80-120 for new video games. And most computer hardware is more expensive too.

EDIT: Just looked on Eliitekeyboards. Their TKL Leopolds are $109.00 so am I missing something, because that doesn't seem cheaper to me.

Just noticed that PC Case Gear have added a few more versions of this board to their stock list (all are on preorder other than the one with cherry reds). You can now order the full size board with reds, browns or blues, or you can order the tenkeyless with blues or browns. All are the same price- $109AUD.

Personally, the full sized one with blues might be what I'm looking for

For what you get, $109 isn't that bad. Especially given its in Australia where we typically pay more and have less choice

Hmmm, I think I want to get a full size with browns or reds and then a TKL with blues. I already have a full size ducky with blues.

How do you find the blues? And where did you get the ducky board from?

I bought my Ducky from mechkeyboards.com

Its my first mechanical keyboard so I don't have much to reference it to, but I fell in love with the keys the moment I started typing on them. It took typing which for the most part I just took as a means for communication and turned it into something that I love, enjoy and can actually look forward to now. I do a fair amount of IMing through MSN and dabble with a little web coding every so often and I find that since I got this keyboard I'm actually looking for things to type and really enjoy the whole experience. I find the blues fine for gaming too, but again, I haven't tried any of the other types yet so I might decide that I like reds or browns or blacks more when I get to try them out. I know for sure that I'm not sticking with one keyboard and would love to try out as many others as possible. After I satisfy my Leopold thirst I might get another Ducky and then I'll probably try hunt down some Filcos and then I'll see about a buckling spring or topre keyboard.

Cheers for that. Yes, I suspect a Leopold may be the first mech board that I buy.
