Epic Fail? For The Lulz? Dime Short & Day Late?
« on: Wed, 10 August 2011, 01:11:51 »
Cruising the boob tube tonight I landed on the Discovery channel as per usual. Bored out of my mind I decided to watch what was on.
A show by the name of "Dirty Money" was on with an episode titled "Full Steam Ahead". This show is like many other "follow me around because I might do something interesting but probably not" reality shows. What caught my eye was a lovely Smith Corona typewriter and the way they butchered it. Being at geekhack and having a fancy for all things beyond geeky I am sure most of us are familiar with steampunked items (keyboards obviously included). So for giggles and cringes I suggest you check out the very uncreative and depressing keyboard mod they present. By the way, initial cost $110 (although we all know there are other costs) sold for $199, lol.

Here are a couple screen caps from whatever website I looked up to find them on. I did take photos of the TV but oddly enough my photos of the TV screen look better than the keyboard itself and that would not be fair to present.  ;)

Oh what keyboard snobs we have become.  =D
SteamFlunked FTW! I know of a certain gh member that must truly be cringing right now. Haahaaaa, I feel your pain buddy.

If this has already been mentioned here and I missed it, then just tell me and I kung foo chop this thread!
