They feel and actuate very differently.  Not saying either is bad, they are just different.  Resistance ramps up differently with actuation at different points in travel, they're just very different switches.

The Topre feels a bit lighter, in terms of weight. This was determined in a highly scientific test, where I pressed a few keys on a Deck with blacks, and pressed a few keys on a 55g Realforce.

I ordered a 87 55g so don't know for sure yet how they feel differently. But, I in terms of just feel I believe the black switch is more springy, and you feel less for in the beginning and more at the end. While with a Topre 55g you feel the weight at the top of the switch, and it doesn't increase to 80g bottoming out (or whatever it is) like a black switch does. I believe a Topre 55g will feel lighter.

It's not right really to compare to the two types of switches. Both are very different. Dome versus Spring.

I tried both, and I had no problems switching back and forth.
In terms of weight they are very similar if you are touch typing the blacks. On the other hand it is impossible to not bottom out the Topre 55g.
As a result I find the cherry blacks to be superior as the springy nature of the switch prevents me from the hard impact and finger discomfort, especially in the ring and pinky fingers.
