Minitouch SIIG malfunctioning.
« on: Wed, 07 September 2011, 06:20:04 »
I bought this keyboard from a site sponsored by this forum.

I use a computer with usb ports, so I also had to order an adapter on the side, as the minitouch uses a ps/2 connector.

I'm having a problem with the keyboard, in that some keys either aren't reactive occasionally, or something of that air - just tonight while I was using facebook chat, I found myself constantly backspacing, which became irritating.

I've secured the connection of the ps/2 to the usb adapter, and it seems to be improving some, although I am still sensing some unwarranted errors. Maybe I'm just warming up to it.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem before?

I bought the adapter sold on clickeykeyboards.

Thanks.

When I got my second Focus 2001 with simplified ALPS it had some problems where it wasn't registering or inputting multiple keystrokes for one. It went away after a while Im still not sure if it was due to me hammering on the keys and magically fixing it somehow  or if I learned to type on it in a way which didn't cause these problems. Try to type hard for a while and press straight down on the middle of each key and see if you still have the problem. You could try each key and see if it is only individual switches that are doing it or if all are it is probably an electronic problem.
If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.
