MW's 32" dream
« on: Sun, 16 October 2011, 12:02:28 »
I randomly came across this (when searching for ELNA capacitors of all things). A 32" gateway CRT! But since this was posted in 2006, it's probably long gone.

Quote
I had a CLC member come in the other day with a van load of computer stuff to donate.  We usually don’t accept donations, but somehow this one slipped through.  The stuff he brought in was cutting edge in 1996, but most of it is too dated for us to do anything with.  But there was one thing that we could have some fun with. . .

My boss has hinted several times that he would appreciate a bigger monitor.  So, yesterday while he was at lunch, we replaced his 17″ CRT with the 32″ Gateway CRT that was brought in with the donated equipment.

On a side note, if anyone is interested in a 1996 32″ Gateway Destination monitor capable of a whopping 600 x 800 resolution at 60Hz, let me know.  I’ve also got a Pentium 1 Gateway Destination desktop PC with a TV tuner card, CD-ROM, 3 1/2″ floppy and a 5 1/4″ floppy drive complete with wireless keyboard and remote control.

You ARE MW.

Stop pretending.

MW uses windows 3.1, I only use windows 98. There's a big difference.

And MW's pentium 1 is 200Mhz without MMX, mine is 233 with MMX.

Also, I underclock most of my pentium 4s.

Good point.

Plus I think you are allowed by the judge to be near children.

But I'm only a teenager. So technically I am a child.

I dunno the age the judge specified.  I didn't read the court order.

I think you can download the court order from ARPANET:

It took me awhile to download it, though. I think it's my ISA 8-bit bus that's too fast for ARPANET to comprehend.

I HATE widescreen, PUUUUUKE. I always have to look side-to-side, and it distorts all of my games that run in fullscreen.

OK, now I'm officially bored with this thread.  However I would have titled it Nightmare, not wet dream.

Nightmare before christmas is one of my most favourite movies.

Sometimes I can't stop dreaming; a burst of colour, phrases and words that articulate themselves in curious ways. New ideas cascading in a bright summer's day.

That would be pretty nice if it ran a half decent resolution. One of my friends had a big CRT too that he once ran at something like 2560x1920 although he did complain that it was pretty hard to read things then as it made text tiny.

Might have been FW900, even when comparing today's screens it had fantastic specifications such as 1920 × 1200 @85hz and 2304 × 1440 @80hz

I admit a CRT of that size would be cool.

Oops, I take it back then, you're not a crying **** snitch.

And I didn't know you were a minor, or a girl. I wouldn't have said that stupid stuff then. I shouldn't have said it regardless.
