What Are Your 2012 Keyboard Predictions?
« on: Tue, 13 December 2011, 11:23:24 »
There are not that many days left on this year.
In line with Geekhack tradition, it is time to predict what may come in the next year.

Here are my predictions:
* Gaming keypad (like the Nostromo) with mech switches (from the start). It will be priced significantly higher than the cheapest Cherry MX gaming board out there. (over here, the SS 6GV2 already costs as "little" as the Razer Nostromo)
* A tenkeyless gaming keyboard with a column for macro keys on the left.
* Still no tenkeyless with Cherry MX Clear and ISO layout.
* Non-mechanical keyboards: scissor switches with 3 mm stroke height is the norm.
* At least two more custom keyboard projects on Geekhack.
* Geekhack gets hacked again (sorry ...)

What are yours?

I predict that a tenkeyless ANSI PCB-mounted cherry mx board will FINALLY be available for purchase.

Matias will release a ten keyless for the Mac. It will still use Alp switches.

I posted in this section specifically because the threads for 2011 and 2010 are in this section ... and still haven't been moved away.
If iMav wants to move this thread, then I won't complain.
