What are you thankful for?
« on: Tue, 22 November 2011, 16:29:58 »
I have been dealing with a lot of members on GH and on DT recently for helping some of them out or getting help from them.  From finding a replacement keycap that I lost to looking for Cherry switches for the Phantom group buy.  I am very glad to help out and that I was able to get help from others.  And then I realized that I could have easily gotten into a heated argument with anyone one of them and then they would be much less incline to help me out if I pissed them off.  Or I would not be as helpful to someone who just pissed me off.  So I am glad that it hasn't been the case and I hope I can keep it that way.

It is good to be nice with each other.  And I am thankful for being part of this community.

Seconded.  I've done many good-faith transactions here on geekhack and haven't been burned yet.  Despite the bickering this is a pretty great place to hang out.  I'm grateful to the community for its wealth of free knowledge and advice.  It's one of the reasons I felt compelled to make and loan out my Cherry switch tester.

There were a couple of transactions that I wasn't too happy with but hey, what can I do.  I've given out free keycaps, key puller, clickclack's keycap to members here more than I care to count.  There are of course, many other good members here (for example, the two above) and that's the only reason why I still haven't lose complete faith in the community and its members here. lol

I'm thankful that I have a kick-ass job, a kick-ass pad, and a kick-ass GF.  I'm also thankful that I kick-ass.

I'm thankful for the Keyboardco, because Bruce and team kick-ass.

I'm thankful to iMav for a kick-ass forum and putting up with my ass for what, 3 years now.

I'm thankful for Ripster's sig, because that's less typing for me.  I'm thankful for Ripster, so I don't have the highest post count at GH.

I'm thankful to the OP for the thread.

I'm thankful for Ripster's Thanksgiving Lego picture today, because it gave me a good laugh and really woke me up!

I'm thankful for the sweet dyesubs I'll be getting from Melissa soon! In my VERY REAL group buy which you won't find by clicking Ripster's sig!

I'm thankful to iMav for restoring my account after ripster brought GeekHack down and caused him a bunch of pain.

Good job running your group buy, KL.  But the rest of your post totally goes against my original post.

I'm thankful for my gradually returning eyesight.  I was nearing the point of having my driver's license revoked, but thanks to a couple of surgeries, and some FDA trials with eyeball-cooking UV light I'm on the mend.

I'm now able to see 20/20 +2 thanks to a new set of contacts (was unfittable before procedures, cornea was too steep), and with luck I can trade in my thick hard contacts for some softer ones quite soon.

The wikis have the same problem as the R4 ordering instructions: they're so huge and comprehensive that finding the answer to a specific question is very difficult.
