Are you sure? Every black alps that I've ever used has been tactile. Then again green alps are normally linear but on the ducky they are tactile and clicky.

Sound like greens then. Which would make them my perfect switch.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

Ducky black ALPS:

Tactile, not clicky, like MX Clear

Ducky Green ALPS:

Tactile, clicky, like MX Blue
The more keyboards we have, the more keyboards we want.

ducky flipped the switches? because blacks are supposed to be something like cherry clears or a stiffer cherry brown and the greens used to be linear..

Are Ducky ALPs even real ALPs? I thought they were cloned switches...

What do you consider real alps? Alps hasn't made a switch since the 90s.

hello every1,

I had posted a new topic a while ago searching for a keyboard. Finally, I decided not to spend much and purchase a ducky for 62$ shipped to europe(47€, thats really cheap). I chose the black alps full layout version. I have no experience in mechanical keyboards, but id be happy to provide pics and video clips to youtube for you guys. I would do so in spite of this topic, because there are no ducky black alps videos in utube and I thought it would be nice to upload there for any1 in need of help making up their mind. I chose this version because I read that alps are loud switches, and I dont want to bother other people in the house that much, cause I tend to be noisy with my keyboards anyway. I read in pc home that it can be used with a PS/2 adapter as well, I hope a generic one would suffice if it doesnt come packaged with its own. Im supposed to receive that neat gift, the key strap as well. Any1 know where I can find a key puller and custom keycaps for this board, if available?

you're sort of out of luck for keycaps. use any other key puller or make one from paperclips. here's one http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,keytools&pid=leokp

Somebody open up their XM ALPS and take pics.  Instructions in the ALPS Wiki.

Otherwise this thread is just a whirlpool of InterToob river running confusion.  Class Six.
