I keep having to rebend my Filco Majestouch

This one

Mine rocked on the desk as I typed so I was told to bend it, I do but everyday I need to do this again since it seems to bend back.

Any solutions? Maybe more details on how to bend it?

A heavier desk is required. For testing, put the keyboard on a flat floor to see how it rocks against the ground.

My filco does that too :(
It usually stay good though unless I pick it up and move it around. How do you bend it?

The awesome product "Shoe Goo" can be utilized if you are very careful.

Turn it upside down, put a drop or so on each corner, try to keep the droplet as tall and spherical as possible. Wait an hour or so until it is 80-90% cured, then turn it back upright and set it on the still-malleable and solidifying pads. You might set it on aluminum foil (slightly greased if you are paranoid) for the final cure.

The key to making this procedure work is allowing the Shoe Goo to get very close to its final configuration, while still slightly less than fully hardened.

If it works, it works great. Don't blame me if you mess it up. This takes timing and finesse.

Notwithstanding all of the real/perceived quality issues, I am planning on buying a Filco one of these days.  I plan to buy from Amazon.  If it's bent out of the box, or if it makes any noise that remotely resembles a PING, there will be no twisting, Shoo Gooing, yellow foam spraying, or magic wand waving.  There will simply be a return and repurchase (N times) until I get one that is worthy of its ~$150.00 price tag.  That seems to be the easiest fix.

I guess I could buy a truckload of Shoo Goo and mold a table out of it, too.  Perhaps buy an extra tube to fabricate a custom wrist rest, too.

I think this happens for all them, I'd tray the twist at least, it DOES fix it, I gave it a twist instead of a "press opposed diagonal sides" and I hope this one keeps it permaneant, really it takes almost no force at all, no way you can break it, since you'd have to purposefully exhibit extreme force.


It's an excellent board btw.

My Filco did this as well.  One firm twist (not press) was all it took.  After significant jostling (taking it from work to home for instance), it usually required retwisting.

Same story, my Filco was wobbly too. Light twisting does the trick, as others have said there's no way you would break anything with the minimal force required.

When I got my Maje2 I was lucky to not have it bent or any miss-aligned keys. The board also had no ping which was nice. It was a Cherry MX black board so didn't stay with me long as I wanted something lighter.

But now looking at a new brown or red board that is TKL for home has made me wonder if I want to chance another Filco after some of the recent complaints. This is the reasoning behind me  looking more towards a leopold to try out (along with the savings), or a CM Storm in Red.

But hey, with the looks of it, if a price and release date for that new Vortex TKL is soon enough, I might wait for that as it looks damn nice.

It's can't be mcrip if it literally rocks on the table, you could even test it by just press down on a random part of the keyboard.

I think the twist may have done it, hasn't returned yet.
