Today was a special day. My brother came over this weekend as he often does, but he said he has a lot of work to do - final paper and all. I say - you can use my backup PC. Since this is Geekhack, even my backup PC has a mechanical keyboard - a Dell AT101W. So he sat down to write his stuffs and after he was done he says he has to get a mech board. All the clicks and clacks make him feel as if he's accomplishing something. I tell him he can have that particular board, I have two more in the closet and he's like "nah, it's not loud enough". I tell him that the only new thing that is louder is a Razer Blackwidow and it's ridiculously expensive. I take him to a supermarket to play with the display models and he's instantly sold. He wasn't particularly fond of the layout but said it's just a matter of time until he gets used to it. So there you have it, another keyboard enthusiast is born. I, however, feel pity for his online game teammates. Chatting through all that clatter is going to be a nightmare.
