Now i'm just waiting for black switches for my first mechanical keyboard. Or should I jump for red switches? (this is mainly for high level starcraft 2 play)

I would be buying this right now if I hadn't already jumped for a Rosewill a week or so back. Maybe I should just buy this one too...

I just bought it. The CM rep changed the shipping from UPS to USPS so no ridiculous customs fees :)

Looks like about $100 shipped to Cali. Not bad. Can't tell if there is tax for california residents but I don't think so.

I love mine in reds. Remember: the one in reds has a black case and red plate instead of the silver/gunmetal case and black plate.

I would say that in gaming, there's really no difference between red/back for me, as I bottom out anyway. If you're super fast, you can probably go faster on red's as it's less force to the activation point. No guarantees, though. I'm not that good while gaming :p

Thanks for sharing ayrsen

Finally, I've been waiting for these QuickFire KBs to finally come out with the MX red switches. If someone could post a review once their KB arrives it would help some of us on pulling the trigger on this. I'm still curious how these boards feel in comparison to Filco.

Nearly identical aside from the coating on the case would be my expectation.  They are built by the same manufacturer using a design that's very near identical discounting the detachable USB and where the media keys are located.  Filco Camo probably uses the exact same controller.

Most Costar uses a Holtek. So even standard Filco and Filco camo uses the same controller, just different firmware.

Well, the Reds will probably sell easier. Lots of people love reds.

Really thinking about ordering one, but at the same time not too sure if I'll like it over the Blue version.

Much like Pokemon, I was never sure which was better.

I bought the Blue Switches version, and I really like it for typing (at work).  I want to try the Red Switches for gaming, but I hated Black switches when I tried them a couple years ago.  They were too stiff and not having a tactile bump just felt "wrong."

Still, I wonder if the lighter Red switches would feel better when gaming (and maybe the lightness will hide the lack of tactile bump a little).

$100 shipped is still about $20 too much for me to take that gamble, right now.  If I could get it for $80 shipped, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.  Even $90 shipped would be a lot easier to jump on.  Things just get real when it goes to $100. :P

I just received this keyboard from CMSTORE about 20 minutes ago today. I'm already loving it. I'd say this was worth the slightly above 100 dollar cost shipped. I'm testing it out right now by trying some WPM games and such. Going to play SC2 On it a for a while later.

I got mine back in October. I would say the CM Storm is a great alternative to those not wanting to spend a lot on a Filco. It made me realize I really like red switches and Costar stabilizers. It is overbranded, but most people eventually replace their keycaps anyway (like I did). I also used black tape to cover the logo next to the escape, which makes it look cleaner to me. I posted a picture here of how it looked back then.

I like it for SC2 as well as for regular typing.

Anyway, congrats and enjoy the board! :)

Looks great!  I'm a big fan of the way you positioned the SC2 Keys.  I'd like to have a Protoss one. :)

I'll probably do something similar with blank keys in the next couple months, as well, leaving printed keys only on the keys I use for gaming.  Since I play multiple games, though, it will look pretty interesting. :D

Dammit, why do they have to use UPS to ship to Canada?  It'll end up costing closer to $200 by the time it's in my hands.  Argh...
