Keys stopped working (Mechanical keyboard)
« on: Fri, 24 February 2012, 11:56:21 »
Hello,

I own a Razer Blackwidow and accidentally spilled my drink over the numpad keys. I cleaned it using isopropyl alcohol but after few days some keys remained sticky and the clicking sound was gone ( I personally liked the clicking sound). I disassembled the keyboard and removed the sticky keys. However, during the process, I broke 2 switches. I removed the pause and numlock switches and replaced it into the more important keys (num3 and right arrow).

After I reassembled the keyboard. The up and down arrow stopped working ( they work sometimes, I'm thinking whenever I press the up or the down key, both keys are registered, thus they don't work). Additionally, the U, I, O, P, Scroll Lock, 7, and Back space keys stopped working as well. Is it possible that these keys are somehow connected to the Pause key? (the pause switch being removed, thus they don't respond as well?, just my assumption.)

Could this keyboard be saved? Could my lack of soldering skills the reason? I look forward to your answers. Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response. I don't own a multimeter, however if it's still repairable, then I would rather buy a cheap multimeter ( >10€) rather than buying a new mechanical keyboard. How about the UP and DOWN arrows issue?
