Sanding a space bar on a Unicomp
« on: Tue, 06 March 2012, 18:16:52 »
Can't say much more then what the title aleady does. I'm thinking about sanding the edge down because it's starting to cut into my thumbs. Does anyone have any advice to offer on this? I know it's a PBT space bar, but I'm not too sure how that would be any different then sanding any other kind of plastic. I've also read about people rotating their space bars the opposite direction, would that work on mine as well, or will I need to make some sort of modification?

Any tips or comments are appreciated.

You go out on the bleeding edge, and take one for the team.

I have never had the problem, but sanding a spacebar might be a great idea.

Probably hard to turn around, since the slots face a certain direction on both parts.

The good news is that standard Model M spacebars are common and cheap, if you screw up.

I am using my heavily modded Model F-122 and it has a unique spacebar that is very hard to come by, so I don't dare.
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

Thanks for the tips and the offer. I'm going to start looking into different grits of sandpaper.

Why not just order a new one from Unicomp? It won't cost you more than $5. You get a brand new space bar and support the company.
