green mx switches

i've seen these around a lot and people claim them to be a good switch. Are there any keyboards that come with them now, or are they completely extinct?

I absolutely love my Ducky 9008G2 Pro Limited Edition with Greens.  Thread about it here.  Mechanicalkeyboards had several in stock but they appear to have sold out.  That said, I'd call them and double check.  They're slammed with the holidays right now and may have more in stock and just haven't updated the website.  I will say though that after typing on that board all day at work, my fingers FLY on my browns when I get home.  Definitely increasing my overall typing speed due to the high actuation force.

The Scroll Lock key on my Limited Edition Ducky is perfectly straight.  I'm really loving the MX Green switches, but I understand they're not for everybody.  Of course, that's why Cherry makes several different switch types.  If you like heavy switches in general (Buckling Spring, MX Blacks), you'd probably like Greens, Whites, and both types of Grey.  I don't do a lot of gaming these days, and I don't think I'd particularly enjoy linear switches, though I'd still like to try some.  The sense of interaction I get from this keyboard when typing on it is something I'd probably miss with linear switches.  I'm looking forward to the next version of this board with Light Grey switches -- I really like the click of Greens most of the time, but it can occasionally get on my nerves.  Maybe all I need is the tactile bump.

Incidentally, theCM Storm Trigger is also available with MX Green switches if you prefer a full-sized layout.  It's a gaming keyboard, though not as gaudy as some.  Macro keys can usually be programmed for functions other than casting spells in WoW; e.g., launching programs, typing a string of text, executing a complex series of shortcuts in Excel or Photoshop, etc.  So it can have its uses as a professional workhorse, as well.

any idea when the ducky mx gray board is coming out? greens are nice, but silent switches are preferable for some environments.

Not sure.  It was mentioned a couple weeks ago, when the Green version was available.  I hope they wait long enough for me to save up the money to buy one  :p

True.  I actually like the noise of the green board though.  Drowns out the ambient noise/conversations in the hallway.  Plus the walls in my office building are paper thin.

An owner of the CM QFR Greens, and it's like a heavier Blue. If you can't find any ask Carter.

It does, but they're WAY heavier.  80 vs 50 cN.  I do love them though.

You will unlikely bottom out with Greens. It's ideal for typing but makes gaming a chore.

It's not bad at gaming - I find that I'm more assured that my keypresses register. It's that sustaining a key is pretty tough. That's why I switch to my Noppoo MX Blue board for games.

But the MX Greens provide an amazing touch and key registration.
