I need help
« on: Wed, 28 March 2012, 10:21:19 »
I first want to apologize for making a thread like this. I then want to defend myself with the fact that I have read all wikis and threads I've found on this subject.

I have tried alot of keyboards, no one has realled talked to me, if you know what I mean. (I have tried cherry black, red, blue, brown, buckling spring, and um, yea.)
The things I don't like with the ones I've tested are:
Blacks - no tactility, I need some form of tactility
Reds - see blacks
Brown - I like them, but I feel like something is missing, can't say what. This is the switch I use now (majestouch-2 incase someone is wondering, probably not.)
Blue - Liked these aswell but there is the same thing here, something is not right. Although I have not tested them on a filco, maybe thats what I need.
Buckling springs - Ok this is somewhat not true since I used one  briefly when I was about 12; 15 years ago.

The keyboard I'm looking at now is a topre realforce. I don't really care about the money, at the same time I dont want to spend $300 on something I have never tested. So, here is my question, is there any of the switches I have listed that are even close to feeling the same as a topre switch?
Will I like it? If not, does anyone want to buy a used topre TKL with swedish lay-out because I will probably order it any second now. My willpower and sanity is low. Help

I'm not from america, I'm from sweden and here one must defend oneself.
So, none of the cherry switches is close to the topre?

You could try a board with clear switches. They are like a more tactile, heavier brown.

Any tips on where I can find keyboards with clear switches? Layout doesn't really matter.

Cheapest way try clears is to buy a Cherry G80-8*** board. You can often find these on ebay. Downside is used one come from POS system mostly, and can be rather poor shape. Make sure you get seller to verify as same model number can have browns too. Only ones I know besides Cherry is Leopold and Keycool with clears.
