Help Needed - Compaq Rubber Dome Membranes Not Working
« on: Mon, 15 February 2016, 23:59:16 »
I recently had the bright idea to try spray painting my old Compaq keyboard.  I was super psyched cause it actually turned out really sweet, but I went to put it back together tonight....and none of the keys worked.  :(  To say I'm disappointed right now would be an understatement.

I've never really taken it apart before so I don't know if I damaged something or put it back together wrong.  It seemed pretty straight forward, not really sure how it could go so wrong that all the keys don't work.

Here's some pics of the membrane layers for reference.  If someone could give me some advice I would appreciate it a ton.

Is it USB or PS/2? Did you plug it in correctly?  Do the LED light up at all? Did you reassemble it correctly and didn't forget any cables?

Also you could check again with Aqua Keytester of really no keystroke is registered.

It's an old ps/2 connector, and I tried multiple times to connect it properly.  The first time i plugged it in the Caps lock light came on, but not it's off.
