To me that looks really cheap and nasty. If you're going to create a keyboard from wood at least pick one with some character, walnut can be really nice, that isn't.

Probably think that wooden keys are probably too much regardless. Might look better just with a wooden case.

Edit: didn't scroll down far enough, some of the woods are nice, still think all wood is a bit OTT

Scroll down farther on the page. There are other wood types on there. The ebony looks pretty nice. Still not worth 1k, either way imo.

Needs a bit of contrast IMO – contrasting wood for the case and keys, and the keys themselves could have two similar woods, in vintage style (a subtly different shade for shift, enter, backspace etc). Or maybe a drastically different wood for WASD, and/or esc.

Bigsass enter key with small backspace? Does ANYBODY actually LIKE that setup?

They really missed the boat there, the rosewood is OK but most of them are boring and ugly.

For a grand, I would much rather have the steampunk M with typewriter keys, but a keyboard is a utilitarian device to me, so form has to follow function.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Looks like easy money if you can streamline making those such that it doesn't take more than a couple weeks free time. Doing a good one, with different profile caps as opposed to that flat profile seems like it would be a lot of work.

The downside to wooden keycaps is when you actually use it a lot, the caps will get really grungy. Ever seen real wood finishes where they were touched often? Something about the oils (and dirt) from skin ruins the finish, and you get a gross build up of yuck in it's place.

I wonder what he uses for controllers. Maybe he buys a mech keyboards already made and just sets the whole thing down into the wooden case and puts his keycaps on it.

Further wonder if there's any legal issues in selling someone else's product in a modified form like that.

Yeah, I saw when I looked again. Some of the woods are quite nice but needs some contrast. Wood case and metal keys perhaps.
