I wanted to quickly share an experience (my first) at OCN's forum, and give Kudos to the geekhack community.

I posted a similar thread to 'Switch Ranker [beta] Released!' on OCN today b/c I was feeling bad about only posting up to this point on GH, and I did not want to appear as though I was playing favorites :) Also, I am trying to get as many 'voters' as possible so we can have the largest possible sample and therefore most accurate possible result on the switch rankings.

Wow... talk about a night and day experience compared to GH. The 'OCN ad police' immediately jumped all over my link to the switch ranker (does not even list or mention a single product) wanting to pull the thread down. I responded by saying 'Please do'.

Kudos to the GH members and mods for supporting vendors and handling them with maturity and respect. You are truly a step above the rest :)

Thanks for your compliments! OCN is a much more tightly moderated since they have many many more members. Sorry for your unfortunate experience at OCN. Also, Deskthority may also support your mission, though they are more European based.

Most forums are very strict on posting links to commercial sites.
You should be glad many forums didn't ban you instantly especially when spamming across so many forums.

In black and white, linking to a commercial site creates traffic, in layman terms, it is still considered advertising.

actually your post should have been restricted on gh as well. As many said it's a promotion to a commercial site, it's not a personal blog but a site that makes money. What does spreading your one link in many forums do? it creates forum spam, yes this is what it is, what is the hope of spamming forums? to create forum links to your website to build link authority or more commonly known as "link juice" in SEO terms. I don't have signatures turned on, but as i suspected viewing your profile you have your commercial site in your signature, which is another sign of forum spam. imo if you want your site to explode, setup an affiliate program, goto a smaller firm like shareasale or linkshare and set it up, no other keyboard selling company has an affiliate program in place. (that i can remember)
