Mechanical Keyboard switch identification
« on: Sat, 02 June 2012, 19:32:00 »
I've recently found an old mechanical keyboard in my basement.  It looks like this:

Upon taking off the keycap, the switch looks like this

This keyboard is a Electrone KT-35m and not much information can be found about it online.  I received it in the early 90's and it uses a DIN interface for keyboard and serial port for mouse.

I'm just curious as to what kind of switch the keyboard is using.  It feels and sounds a lot like my Cherry MX Blue switches.

Thanks

its the very first/original Cherry clears, sounds like blues, is tactile as blues but it takes more force to depress the switsh, 10-15 grams more depress force than the cherry blues

Not Cherry. iOne oem more commonly known as Scorpius 35, Chinese MX copies. Get an AT to PS/2 adapter and put it to use.

It's like a G80-1800 with a huge trackball. pretty sweet basement find.

Welcome to GH!

AKA "Taiwan's white axis". I have the black version at home, it uses genuine Cherry MX Blue switches, as does the latest BIG ASS YELLOW FONT iteration which also adds NKRO.

Almost forgot: if you get a chance, stick some nickels on it. We like to put force measurements in our wiki!
