I was wondering if anyone had any advice or a link for instructions on the removal of the spacebar on an Apple Extended II?
Thanks to the great information here, I picked up a couple with ALPS switches from a neighbor. I also bought a key-puller and all the cleaning and lubrication chemicals for restoration (retr0bright mix included). I have hunted around and found great advice on disassembling the large pieces (
http://lowendmac.com/thomas/06/1113.html and others), but all seem to caution the removal of the larger keys on this keyboard. I'm a noob at this and certainly don't want to screw it up, but the spacebars on both are very yellowed and need cleaning so removal advice would be most welcome.
