Ducky DK1008 or DK9008?
« on: Wed, 20 June 2012, 09:02:08 »
So here's the situation: I currently own a Cherry G80-3000 with blue switches and a CM Storm QFR with black switches. I personally find blue switches as my favorite, so I've been using my Cherry keyboard more than my CM Storm. One of the biggest problems I have with this Cherry keyboard is the massive size of this thing. It's so large it takes up all the space on the "keyboard slot" on my desk. I want to get another keyboard with blue switches that doesn't take up all the space here.

I have decided to go with Ducky keyboards since 1. Easy to get in Taiwan, 2. Cheaper in Taiwan. I am debating whether I should get a 1008 or 9008. I know for a fact that 9008 has better build quality compared to the 1008, but there is also a price difference between these 2 keyboards, and not to mention I already own 2 mechanical keyboards. I've used them both hands-on, but I don't feel a significant difference between them in terms of typing experience. Should I get a 9008 for the better quality, or should I just get a cheaper alternative since I already got 2 keyboards.....

Thanks.

I'd say the 9008 would be worth it since the cheap ducky keyboards are not great in quality they've had some known issues and so far the ones that were able to release a cheap keyboard thats fairly high quality was coolermaster with the qfr.

My friend who sells mech keyboards told me that Ducky made changes to the 1008 and improved it by adding another piece of metal plate inside. Apparently that solved some issues that 1008 were known for before (I don't know what issues but I trust my friend). But yeah 9008 does have better quality in terms of casing...........aaah what to do....

Well from what I remember it was the 1087 which had various issues and the 1008 was just low quality with some issues and well the 9008 is the high end model so theres that. Also try to get the model with the pbt keycaps since they last much longer than abs.

I had the same issue and I was sure to get the 9008 Year of the Rabbit edition till I read about the quickfire and now im using it so.
