Where is the cherry mx key pulling and swapping guide
« on: Fri, 27 July 2012, 23:54:48 »
There used to be a really good guide here for this, but its gone now.

I'm trying to use the search function but can't really find guides for removing either Cherry or Topre keycaps.

I know how to do the normal keycaps, but I'm specifically interested in spacebars and the bigger keys for these types.

Can someone point me to the guides if they have been moved?

Thanks.

Thanks for the response DanGWanG.  I don't really understand Reddit, but I'll look into it.

All I really need to know at the moment is how to pull off a topre esc key, since I have a keyboard on the way and I will want to switch that one out.

I'm pretty sure I can just pull it off the same as with a cherry key, but I just want some confirmation from someone else, since it is an expensive keyboard.

Also, if someone could also explain the larger keys for future reference, it would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry if this is covered elsewhere but I have not been able to find anything using the Search function.

You shouldn't have any problems with the ESC key, as seen in this video for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Od2urGVLjnc#t=121s
I don't know about the larger keys, but if you go slowly you should be fine. Have fun with your keyboard =)

EDIT: You can see naked tope keyboard here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QfxCNLPi-_k#t=35s

Looks pretty straightforward.  Thank you for the info and the links.
