Can these keys be "saved"?

I got these thick Cherry doubleshots from sth the other day, and as you can see, the USPS managed to mangle them pretty good. I've opened a ticket with them to try and claim the insurance money that was purchased for the shipment, but I'd also like to know if anyone has suggestions for fixing them other than gently shaving off the skirt of the keys until they fit properly. Has anybody tried to "repair" keys this badly damaged? Alternatively, if anyone has a similar, partially-masticated set of thick Cherry white doubleshots, then maybe we can work out a deal.

Seeing fresh white 2-shots in this state is depressing.

Even trimming wouldn't save them, they have become deformed as well. Short of placing them in a mold and gently heating them to regain the correct shape... no they are not savable. Looks like they got caught in one of the sorting machines probably. I used to see all sorts of things destroyed by those machines. Too bad... I will look through my spares to see if I have any extras from incomplete set of those 2 keycaps.

Yah, from the packaging, what seems to have happened is the Priority Mail flat-rate box got smashed, and it was actually some of these keycaps' brothers and sisters that did the mangling. I'm guessing it got stuffed under something weighing 20+ pounds to do this kind of damage. This was such a good looking set, too.
