Filco touchpad

Anyone here try out the Filco touchpad they sell at Keyboardco.com ?  I am thinking of picking one up to try out but haven't heard of anyone owning one.

From all the touchpads I tried, I think Apple are the only ones that got it right.

You can use it in Windows with extracted official drivers from Bootcamp.

Never tried the Filco one, but I expect it to be just a generic touchpad.

Thanks for your reply. After posting this thread I did a google search and found some reviews on it, most of it was negative.

What I meant was that after I created this thread asking for info on the Filco touchpad I did a search and got negative reviews on it.  Not that I did a search on the Apple one.

I have to admit that the touch pad is something Apple got right. Too bad that the TrackPoint is far superior to any touch pad.

using either mouse or trackpoint. touchpad is mad annoying! try a trackball instead!

if I were to get a touchpad (and I have utterly no use for one...) it'd be a wacom I think. Everything else seems to be either crappy or hilariously overpriced.

It doesn't have to be an either/or proposition. Right now I've got the magic trackpad and a trackball connected to the same computer. Trackpad for gestures and scrolling, trackball to move mouse pointer.

I just returned my CST L-Trac trackball because the scrolling on it was very unergonomic.  I do a ton of scrolling when web surfing and doing school work so it was a pain to use.  I am thinking of trying out a Wacom if not I'll try some other trackball.

I recently got a Magic Trackpad and I have to say I do like it a lot. I haven't tried it with Windows yet. I wonder if I can do browser forward/backward in Windows.

Try the Kensington Slimblade, it's the scrolling that makes it stand out

I wouldn't. The Wacom touch pads are pretty horrendous and the tracking accuracy is below average. Apple's trackpad is the best trackpad on the market both in built in laptops or standalone for a PC. I actually use my trackpad with my left hand conjunction with my mouse during casual computing since gestures are quick and responsive.
