I've been lurking here for a few days looking for some options to replace my old Z Board. I've done a lot of reading here and I'm looking to get some input on what I'm thinking. I'm about 95% set on Cherry MX Blues; use is about 75% typing (Papers, Coding, General Use) and 25% gaming (FPS, a little RTS). I've been looking at Filco, Ducky, WASD, Uncicomp, CM and Rosewell. I'd rather go for 104 Keys but I could be convinced to go for less. I don't care about back lighting. I'm actually contemplating going blank or engraved, I like the minimalistic design and could learn to type completely correctly. I do like the side printing on the Filcos but they seem to be the only ones that have the whole board side printed. I did see some links to 37 key sets on the forums, but not much else. My old 680i has PS2 so I'll be running it through an adapter if it's USB, so I have no USB or PS2 preference. I've seen several boards with removable USB cables in the picture forums and I like that idea for longevity. I know the Rosewells have them and people are split on their build quality for that aspect. On price I could do up to about $150, but obviously I wouldn't mind cheaper so I can buy some custom keys. At this point I'm kinda leaning to the WASD keyboards, but I'd love to hear everyone's input.
