All keyboards speak the PS/2 protocol. The PAC-60 has a detachable PS/2 cable. The PAC-61 and upwards have a instead a cable with a (telephone-style) modular connector; it is not directly detachable from the keyboard, but ends in a modular connector inside the keyboard's case.Keyboards without trackpoints have a 4P4C connector. The pins are GND, +5V, kb data, kb clock (in order on the keyboard's side). Dolch PAC-65 keyboards with trackpoints have a larger modular connector and cable.
I just attached a normal ps/2 cable internally on mine direct to the pcb. Unless you need to keep the original cable to use with a PAC unit, there is no reason not to do the permanent mod to standard ps/2.
I made a new cable for my Dolch Pac 62 keyboard and then I wrote about it on the Deskthority Wiki. QuoteAll keyboards speak the PS/2 protocol. The PAC-60 has a detachable PS/2 cable. Meh, what about using it on the actual Dolch Pac? Nostalgia?
I made a DIY using a phone line splitter and a PS/2 cable from a Cherry G81. Show ImageIt looks messy but it works.Credits to this thread for the help
