Filco Majestouch misbehaves :(

Hi guys!
Long time lurker, first time poster. I purchased Filco about a year ago and until week or two ago I was extremely satisfied. But my keyboard started acting weird - it registers two key presses instead of one. With some keys (like "5" and "UP" arrow) it happens almost every time I press them, I press "5" one time and on my screen I'll see two of them. It's very annoying especially with up/down arrow keys, it makes navigating my system almost impossible. Just imagine situation when you are trying to go down 2 directories but for some reason keyboard decided to register 4 presses. At first I thought there might be something wrong with my PS/2 connection so I plugged keyboard to a different system using USB - same thing happens. I'd appriciate any help very much, it drives me crazy and makes my work very unpleasant. TIA!

Ingredients: 
1 Filco keyboard + flaky switches
1 can o air (compressed air)
1 keycap puller (or improvise)

Directions:

1: remove keycap from the offending switch
2: insert skinny red tube into can o air  (you didn't lose it, did you?)
3: depress switch stem
4: point tube directly at new-found opening
5: depress trigger on can o air

This may or may not solve your troubles, but there's a pretty good chance of it.

Sounds like there's some dust or hair stuck in the keyswitch. Pop the keycap off, depress the stem, and lay down some compressed air in that bad boy.

If that doesn't fix it, then whip out your soldering iron, order one of these bad boys, and go to town.

Probably a busted contact point inside the switch where pressing it down to a certain point will actuate the key, release from contact when it goes down a tad further, then actuates the key again on the way up at that same exact height. But you would really need to take it apart to verify.

Sorry that your first post is to report a problem, and with a Filco, no less

If the compressed air does not seem to help, post back - the guys are full of great ideas.

Is this a Majestouch or a Majestouch 2? The original also had an issue where switches were not snapped in place before being soldered. Of my two, one had that issue, the other had a switch that needed WD40. (Both chattered, but the former finally snapped into place and became detached from the PCB.)
